Creative World Children’s Academy is Reno’s premiere preschool that takes pride in its focus on school readiness, physical development and the social-emotional well-being of its students. 

Creative World is housed in a State-of-the-Art facility with a full half-acre landscaped playground and on-site swim center.  Physical development is nurtured with swim lessons, gymnastics and free play.  Our half-acre playground has a commercial swing set for both older and younger children, a commercial size jungle gym, playhouse and large sandbox. We have plenty of grassy playground for running and playing along with large mature shade trees. Our students enjoy abundant tricycle paths, teeter-totters, a basketball net, soccer goal and T-ball.

Our curriculum follows Nevada State Pre-K Standards for achievement in all areas of toddler and child development.  We utilize a hands-on approach to teaching science and math while literature and art are an integral part of our curriculum to foster creativity.  Our licensed teacher is available for developmental assessments. 

Students gather daily in our spacious multi-purpose room for morning music prior to circle time in their individual classrooms.  This generous space allows us to set up our bounce house when its cold.  We feature iPads to round out the technology portion of our curriculum.

Your child’s health is important to us.  We serve organic milk and filtered water and provide organic fruit and other healthy snacks.  We provide thick comfortable nap pads and sanitize our school daily with Eco-Friendly products.  Our classroom teacher-child ratios are kept lower than social service standards for more individual attention to each student.

Meet the Director/Owner:
Elizabeth Rayburn

I have been in education for over 15 years in the Washoe County School District.  I have a Master’s Degree in Children’s Literature and Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada Reno, a teaching English Language Learners endorsement and most recently completed my Child Care Directors Certificate through the Child Care Education Institute. My passion is early literacy and providing preschool aged children with a positive school experience.
         
As the director of Creative World, I focus on school readiness, physical development and social emotional well-being of all students.  I believe Creative World does a phenomenal job providing students with hands on curriculum that follow Nevada’s pre-kindergarten standard.  When our students move on to elementary school, I am confident that they are more than prepared.

Being a classroom teacher myself for several years, I know that my teachers are my school’s greatest asset.  Creative World offers wages greater than the industry standard as well as health, vision, dental, and life insurance benefits. All staff members are CPR and First Aid Certified and are required to take continuing education classes.
         
Communication with families is of the utmost importance to me and I maintain an open door policy.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time with any questions, comments or concerns.  The staff and families of Creative World are all equal contributors to your child’s education and it is important to me that we keep an open line of communication.

Rosie just finished her 3rd and final year at Creative World, and it was sad to leave.  They worked hard through the years to provide a safe and engaging environment for the kids where they learn right from wrong in a supportive way, and we're very glad we made the decision we did.  Rosie made great friends and virtually all the kids in her classes were the kind of kids we were happy to have Rosie be around, sweet, innocent, and playful.  When we first looked for a place for our baby Rosie to join when she turned 2, we went all over Reno and toured many places, most of which turned us off a lot for various reasons -- we only wanted the very best for Rosie.  Creative World was the first we walked into where the kids looked like they were happy, having fun, and engaged by the teachers, and after 3 years we feel they maintained that environment throughout.  My impression is that the owner, Susan, works very hard for the welfare of each child.

My twin boys just had their last day at Creative World after 2 amazing years and we just can't say enough good things about them. From the beginning, Creative World has been a place where my boys were excited to go to every single day. They absolutely loved the playground, which is a beautiful space where the children can safely explore without having to be confined to the same tired area that so many other schools have. There are even days where the children can bring their bicycles and ride around the playground. The school also offers Water Play days and Super Hero Days, which the boys always looked forward to. The curriculum offered At Creative World is challenging but fun and I have been so pleased with how much my boys have learned. They had the opportunity to learn Spanish, science, art, and music all with monthly themes and are more prepared for kindergarten than I could have hoped for.
Creative World is truly a treasure and we are so thankful that it has been a part of our lives.

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful school. My son has been enrolled for two years and my daughter has been going for one year. The owner is so hands on and Involved. She has such pride in her business and loves the children on a personal basis. The staff is wonderful, the school is beautiful and clean the activities are so educational. This is absolutely a school and not a daycare. I have raved about it to my friends and once they saw for themselves they made transfers from other schools. Take the time to tour this school.  There are so many extra activities you can join in on. My favorite part is the music. Every morning the school sits together and sings.  It's really sweet.
